Partnerships with Local Communities
NSSMC has a long history of managing steelworks all over Japan in harmony with local communities. As a trusted and responsible member of the community, we have distinctive social contribution program activities. These programs include promoting the creation of “hometown forests” by planting trees and plants in communities, musical activities based at Kioi Hall, and the operation of regional sports clubs that increase community spirit.
We create hometown forests to help prevent global warming, in addition to conserving biodiversity when so doing.
We support local baseball, volleyball, rugby, judo, football, and other athletic teams.
We have consistently supported art and culture for many years.
We conduct various activities to make children and students, who lead the future, better understand the steel industry.
We help develop various environmental relations in the international and local communities.
We communicate with the public with the means of participating in environmental exhibitions, publishing science and technology brochures, and conducting philanthropic activities.
We cooperate and support a wide range of activities in academic and educational areas, and for art and culture, sports, local communities, welfare, and disaster support.
We practice enviromental preservation activities and communication activities that are tailored to the characteristics of each region.
